A Good Friday

Yesterday here was a very different day.. It was a really cold fresh day.. It was great.. Reminded me of home heaps. I opened most of the windows and doors of the house to let the cool breeze in but somehow the house was way hotter than outside was. It was the first day Ive worn a singlet and a top on top of that.. I enjoyed it. Ryan said he had never felt it soo cold here before.
I thought mmm maybe a big storm was coming but it didnt :(

See when it rains here it just starts.. no sprinkle to start it off.. just full on rain.. Buckets down.. then after about 15-20 its gone.. no sprinkle after that either.. just like someone is turning the tap on and off.

So to get out of the house we decided to go look at some beaches that are close to the city.


Here is a map. Palmerston is where I live. So we drove up to Darwin around that white dot.




First we went to Mindil beach. This is where the Mindil Beach Sunset Markets are held. Anyone who knows about this market love it. Cant wait for it to start. It's starts the 29th of April and is on every Thursday and Sunday nights till the 28th of October.

The sand here was really thick and our feet just sunk into it. By the end of it we were full of muddy sand and this glue like stuff..

There were these two people standing out in the water and yelling something..they just stood there looking at the clouds.. They looked like Aborigines. Maybe they were praying or something. You can just see them.





Would have been awesome if a storm rolled in but no luck..






This formation from the water went for miles on the beach.. the pattern was edged in the sand a good 2 cms. Crazy






Then we went to Cullen Bay... This is a richer suburb of Darwin city.. It has awesome resturants and you can catch a ferry from there. There are houses that back onto the water and there sit the multimillon dollar yatchs. With all the boats its sorta looks a bit like Williamstown. I didnt get any photos of the yatchs.. it started raining and i couldnt be bothered. SOZ









That was pretty much our day.. we came back home and relaxed for the rest of the day..
